Easter brings joy and delight
As we hunt eggs and fill baskets bright
But let us not forget the day
When Jesus rode in to pave the way

The people praised and cheered His name
Yet soon their hearts would change and shame
From palms to cross, the shift was made
As they called for Him to be betrayed

Just like the boiled eggs we seek
That start off fresh and oh so sleek
But with time, they begin to rot
Their once bright colors now forgot

Let us remember this Easter day
The lesson learned in eggs and fray
That beauty fades, while He remains
Our Savior, King, forever reigns.
