I pray to God to calm the storms of life;
to claim my soul and end my strife,
but has my God not recognized my sin?
I prayed: “My God, hear me!” I cried His name,
I did not hear him cry the same. (But)
I know my God exists inside the wind.
On days when light pours over every thing
I feel our bond, our wedding ring.
I know my God exists inside the light.
When darkness drowns my soul at night, I fear:
will my God be able to hear
my lonesome begging to forgive my plight?
And then, a storm, it bangs against my pane;
God rages and I feel his reign.
How dare I fear He has not known my sin?
I feel His temper in the tempest raging.
A war for love outside is waging,
I know my God exists inside the wind.
