To answer that, I only have
to greet the morning sun,
then recognize the beauty as
it sets when day is done.
The grass so green that comes alive
when winter turns to spring,
the budding trees that turn to leaves,
each song a bird will sing
that heralds summertime is here
and temps warm up to say,
“It’s time to shed your coats and make
your plans to holiday!”
To see the blossoms spreading wide
to glorify the garden
and even clouds that bring the rain
when they grow gray and darken.
Yet rainy days will only stay
till skies are blue again.
There’s wonder is the season’s change
as God will tell them when
to usher in each vibrant fall
in hues of orange and red
as foliage recedes again
and flowers go to bed.
Again it cycles, bringing us
a blanket for the earth,
as snow falls gently from the sky
we celebrate Christ’s birth.
Such blessing’s indescribable!
Deserving? That’s absurd!
Still it remains our greatest gift
foretold in God’s own Word.
And as the winter turns to spring,
the seasons fall in line
the way the Master has decreed.
This is His grand design.
No, I’ve done nothing to deserve
these blessings He’s renewed,
but I will thank Him everyday
in humble gratitude.
