Who Is Like the Lord Our God?

God’s hand holds all the oceans. God’s hand spans endless skies. God’s hand moves mighty mountains. His mind needs no advice.

The fount of life and wisdom, His mind we’ll never grasp.
Stars are set aflame by Him; His hand we cannot clasp.

All the world’s nations are teardrops in a rolling sea, sapling plants, fragile and frail – so soon our spirits flee!

Who is like the LORD our God? He conquers vicious foes.
He builds and tears down kingdoms. His timing no one knows.

Why think my burdens are ignored or that God cares not?
Providence, I must recall; my feeble frame forgot.

All the world runs after is decaying grass and wood.
Clamoring for chattels fine, we have not understood.

It’s God who fashions futures and never falls asleep.
He rules the details of my fate – my life His hand will keep.

Machinations of God’s plans don’t cross our weakened minds.
When I faint, He strengthens me to cross the finish line.

I’ll win the treasure kept for me, a weighty golden crown.
I’ll dwell forever with my Lord and at His feet bow down.
