I ache, Lord,
deep within my heart.
I’m constantly inundated
with the countless demands
that the world makes of me,
of all that it takes from me.
I’m so in need of You.
The hollowness of that gnawing,
leaves me despairing,
consumed, like I’ve been ensnared
by a gigantic tornado,
swirling, pulsating,
at break-neck speed
with no way to stop,
imminently aware that I have
no one to turn to,
no one to save me,
No one…but You.
This feeling of hopelessness
was something I never considered
to be a possibility
and yet here it is, Lord.
I am utterly desperate,
besieged by it all,
longing for the relief that I finally realize
only You can give.
At last, your Spirit has convinced me
that You can and You will
alleviate this anguish.
Continue to surround me
with your presence
and fill me with your Spirit, Lord
I’m so in need of You!
