Father, I

by Tyler Baggett

Artist: Carolyn V

Oh, season of unfaithfulness
Oh, bittersweet when I have made
With my own hands a better way

You give a time of joy
You give a time of glee
But quickly fades to death
And my feeble mind unwound

Falter, I, like the new captain with
His sails towards the craggy rocks
Or the child who tries to reach
That which he cannot and falls

But the Lord is my captain
God, He is my Father
He will guide my ship to shore
He will catch my weary soul

Oh, Lord my God, be true
Though I be full of lies
Oh, Lord my God, be light
When the darkness I prefer.
